The latter generally show strong interest in Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>, involving them with social or political issues. In fact, it might be impossible to force indifferent South Koreans to be interest in Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>. And, it might be also difficult to expect that biased South Koreans free themselves from prejudices so that they see Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> in the different perspective. In addition, vague image, misunderstanding and prejudices about Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Japan</st1:country-region>, which still remain in general South Koreans, are that 'they are people who live making money in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> in spite of Koreans'.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;&nbsp;</span><o:p></o:p></font></font></span></p>

The diversity means that problems, which each Korean in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> has, are various. Therefore, Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> cannot be uniform, and each person should be drawn attention. As focusing on an individual, we can see 'a human being'. However, Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> have a thing in common. Like the title of InSook Kim's exhibition, 'in between', says, they exist in 'Sai(the boundary)', that is, in the 'boundary'.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </span>Both South Koreans and Japanese do not live in the boundary and do not need to live in the boundary. However, Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> are born and live in the boundary regardless of their will. A third generation Korean in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>, InSook Kim, has lived in the boundary, and rather has fully enjoyed from 'calmness' even to 'pleasure' accepting both naturally. 'Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>' were so far the 'unordinary' while 'they' are the 'ordinary' in InSook Kim. It can be said that her gaze and sense have been developed based on such 'ordinary'. Obviously, there are feelings surrounding human beings in ordinary life, and such feelings comprise of calm ordinary life getting joined together. Such calmness can be clearly found in the expression of models. She represents Koreans in Japan through the film in a living room where they share the every day: from an elderly first generation Korean woman in Japan to a third generation Korean woman in Japan of conceiving a fourth generation Korean in Japan, from a great-grandmother and a great-grandson to a couple and their sons and daughters, and from the family picture that takes a photograph of three generations all together to the picture that takes a photograph of a person alone. This work lets us feel calm and affluent every day and signifies the figure of people who live the everyday life valuably. First of all, her work is outstanding in the point of catching the 'ordinary life of Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>' and its 'calmness'. Even though she is a Korean in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Japan</st1:country-region>, she is free from the misunderstanding, preconception and ideology surrounding Koreans in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region>. Probably, that is because she is an artist. <span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"><br />今回は劇団の印刷物で作品を作るプロジェクトです。<br />演出家ユ・リムさんと二人で脚本を見ながら人物像を作り上げていきました。<br />劇中は60歳を目前にした二人のお話ですが、ポスター＆リーフレットは30年前の二人の逃避行をイメージして制作しました。<br />ソウル市内の芝居小屋密集地帯である大学路、정보소극장(チョンボ小劇場)にて明日から公演スタートです！！</span>
